Rose Petal Passing

A gentle breeze, makes the rose petals fall down

They dance and blow all over the ground

They skip and roll down paths that are waiting

Into the night, where the darkness is still creating

Soft as silk, they keep on passing, making their way down the street

Until they blow to a person waiting, a person with a life that's incomplete

As the person is knelt at a grave stone, hours past their friends burial

They learn that life has a short passing, It can be blown away like the rose petal

Then that life rolls away slowly, blowing throughout the trees

Never another worry to behold, As their soul continues with the breeze

Until they arrive where their hearts so gently lay

And the rose petals are free to sweep over the bay
