Chapter 1

Beep. Beep. Beeeep. BEEEEEEP!!!!!

Hit snooze button. Miss. Go for another hit. Miss. Lunge at alarm clock, bring it up to my eyes since they're still half closed. Punch. Oops…I think I broke it. Damn whoever thought of alarm clocks that get louder as they go off. Even though they are useful and work. Whatever. Time to get up though…but…seriously, who gets up at like 7:00 in the morning? I guess stupid dentists do, seeing as that's where I'm going at 8:00. But I'm a teenager! I should deserve to sleep in until at least 11:00!

Ok so time for the basics. My name is Taylor Lee, but I hate to go by the name Taylor. So people just called me T.J. since my middle name is Justine. Not that I liked that a whole lot better, it sounded like some teddy bear name, but there was a reason I didn't go by Taylor anymore. Oh yeah by the way I'm 16 almost 17. I have my permit and I'm getting my license…um…soon.

I threw the covers of my bed off myself and slowly sat up. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror quickly.

Greaatt…I don't even have my contacts in but I can still tell that my hair is a mess.

I crawled over to my bathroom and showered, brushed my teeth, washed my face, put in contacts, and I'm still tired. No make up for me. Unless I have like…a crater growing on my face and I need cover up. But the thing is that my mom gets me tons of makeup. Which I just shove into my bag that contains things that are never used.

I wince as I hear a woman's shrill voice pierce the peaceful silence in my lovely room. That woman…happens to be my mother.

I sighed quietly. Deep breath… and then,

I bellowed from my room. Yes I bellow. Don't worry, it doesn't harm my voice. As if I had any reason to really use my voice. But truth to be told, I actually have a good voice. I know that I do and I'm not bragging. I'm stating a fact. But no one actually knows of this mysterious talent of mine. Except for a few friends. But not to worry, it doesn't relate to anything I do regularly.

What do I do regularly then huh? Interesting question. I'm a sponsored skateboarder and snowboarder. Yes I know it can be common sometimes, but it's a big deal for me. I mean I'm just an ordinary girl who lives in the huge city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Anyway I joined a few skate competitions cuz we needed the money badly. No big deal right? Huh. Right. Of course there had to be a few scouts from a few different companies. So I guess they liked the way I looked. And skated. And boarded. So now I'm whizzing off on a new adventure I guess. Whoop-dee-doo. But don't get me wrong…I love all of this. I meet so many new people and see so much. A month ago I got back from a tour in Japan with the skateboarding company, Girl. That was serious fun. Heehee…those memories…they include a few hectic times. Skating through a night market and knocking over a rice stand. Oops. Anyway I won't bore you with details, but let's just say it was interesting.

It's just sometimes it gets so crazy being zoomed around country and world, I don't really get too many close friends. Yeah I have my old friends back here that I knew before I got sponsored. I just want to…I dunno…make more friends! Because whenever I meet really cool new people, I hardly get to see them again! Like last year, back in England, I met a really amazing skater kid that I hung out with for a week. His name was James. But I almost know for sure that I'm not going to see him again. I can e-mail and IM him and stuff, but still it's not the same. I just don't have time to go and get another plane ride back to England and go visit him and stuff. And the companies are really intense on you. Like if they tell you, you have to be somewhere, you have to be there. No buts, or excuses. Well you can have really major excuses like, my brother died or something, but that's it.

Ok so let me describe what I look like now. Um…I'm asian. Yeah I know. An asian skater? Not something you find everyday. So yeah…black hair, of course, but I recently got neon green highlights. Um I'm 5'8.5", 123 lbs., and size 9 shoe …yeah. So that's all for me. Yup.
