Windsong by writerforever

Sky so gray

Waves crashing

Sails are let loose

The journey begins

With an aching heart

The fair maiden with skin so fair

And sunlight in her hair

Stands on the banks

Of her beautiful Ireland

Watching the ship

That holds her beloved captive

Sail away

Bound for the Americas

With an aching heart

She sings a mournful song

"I will meet ye again"

"Oceans cannot separate us"

"We will be together in our beloved home"

Whispered onto the wind

These words flew

Caressing the ears of her beloved

Comforting him

With a final wave

The fair maiden falls to her death

The salty waves crashing down upon her

Her mournful song still a whisper on the wind
