Aphorism

American beauty

Lives the American dream

But there is so much more to

American life

When ripped at the seams

Life turned its back on you

When you turned around

And saw her kissing your enemy

Turning her mind into romantic movie scenes

But it turned you into memories

You threaten with empty poetry

Threatening empty "dare-me-to-do-its"

But you can't write with slashed wrists

Nor with broken angry empty mechanical pencils

Just use the lead from your tears

American woman

Oh stay away from her American boy

She will do nothing but claw your eyes out

Your beautiful brown American eyes

Dried with freedom's flag

Burned jealousy fires deep

You struck a match to a forest

And watched it burn with pride

You dared to claim land that wasn't yours

So do the world a favor and bite the prairie dust.
