even in defeat she tasted sweet
as her snowflake lips snagged on
my skin soft like twilight fluttering
out of my reach. dishevelled she
flicked the smokey shreds of hair
out her electric eyes and whispered
her good byes - her voice bruised with
broken hearts like it was before
the start, as she melted away
like powdered butter on my burning eyes.

but i saw the tears sequined onto
her eyelashes ( golden like our first
sunset ) her footsteps echoing off
the cobblestones in her rush to
forget me. I was never any good for her,
After All.
