When I was but a girl of sixteen, I was kidnapped by a demon. It wasn't terrible but it was scary to say the least. He captured my heart not long after, but I ran away. Maybe I should tell you my story, and then you'll understand, right?
There was a war between my village and the demons. I was looking through the window anxiously as I watched my current heart throb fight. My mother behind me was begging me to come away from the window.
I ignored her, a mistake on my part, for I saw my father felled by a demon. I screamed, and my mother grabbed me, trying to smother the cry. But it was too late, a tall red haired demon turned my way his eyes gleaming with blood lust- and something else..
Mother held me tight and drug me further into the house towards my little sisters. I wasn't cooperating though, since his eyes bore into mine, their green depths drawing me closer and closer to the edge. He held his hand out, offering me something of which I didn't understand, but I wanted it. I raised my own hand to take it, but mother grabbed it and forced it back down.
His gaze flickered toward her, and he climbed through the window and forced Mother to let go and offered his hand again. This time I took it, and he drew my out the window. "Welcome, my dear." He purred in my ear, disrupting the trance he'd put me in.
I looked at the blood and gore around me then back to him, a demon likethe one who killed my father, and fainted.
I woke up in a small, enclosed space. My hands automatically went up to prevent an attack- and hit the ceiling. I frowned. For a ceiling it was awful soft. I poked it again. It was silky smooth, but not like real silk. It smelled nice too, like flowers.
I relaxed as the calming and familiar smell swept over me. That didn't last long, as the walls fell open. Light hit my eyes and I blinked rapidly. When I could see, I found I was, in fact, in a flower. A giant flower, yes, but a flower nonetheless.
I studied my surroundings. My flower was in the middle of a pond, which was surrounded by tulips that had yet to bloom. The rest was grass and fruit trees. I sighed at the view, enchanted by its natural beauty.
I started to crawl out, but remembered where I was. I can't swim, I'm desperately afraid of bodies of water- and the pond was no exception. I looked down into the bottom, hoping it would be shallow. My hopes were immediately dashed as I looked down the clear surface to the murky bottom. I groaned and crawled back to the middle.
I tried to be content with sitting on the flower, but my curiosity was pricked by a whining sound that seemed to be coming from the tulips. I moved to the edge of the flower, forgetting where I was. The flower tipped and I squeaked as I tumbled back onto the flower.
Laughter sounded behind me, I began to turn, but I was dumped off of the flower. I began screaming for all I was worth- and sinking. My panic rose, almost choking me. The splash of somebody jumping in the water was barely noticed as I kept sinking. I took a deep breath as I continued plummeting to the murky bottom. Somebody grabbed me and pulled me to the surface. I gasped for air, and who ever it was swam to the shore and pulled me up.
I opened my eyes and looked up into cat green eyes. He was on his knees, his arms on both sides of my head, and his longish red hair falling forward like a shield around our faces, which were rather close to each other. "Are you alright?"
"Y-yes." I choked out. It's rather hard to talk with that face so close to mine. "I-I'm fine." His handsome feature seemed familiar.
He moved away, and his cat ears came into view. "You!" I shouted and scooted away, running into a tulip. Indignant squeaking could be heard and I turned to the tulip. "What's in there?"
"Pixies." He answered calmly.
"Pixies? Pixies! What in the world are pixies doing in there!"
He laughed and moved beside me. His hand made a sweeping motion over the flower and it opened. A small lady flew up to us, a subdued smile on her face. I watched amazed as it moved closer, and made to tap my nose. The demon stopped it, grabbing its wings. "Careful, they're jealous creatures." I blinked, realizing the pixie had meant to push me back into the pond.
"Are they really that strong?" He nodded and put the pixie back into the flower.
"Pixies are very strong, despite their small appearance. These ones stay with me because they want to. But I lock them in these flowers so they won't attack every girl who comes in."
"You take many here?" He chuckled and took my hand.
"You're the first non-family member to be brought here." I felt oddly pleased by that. Had I forgotten I'd been kidnapped? I shook my head vigorously and stood.
"Well, that's nice and all, but I don't suppose you could send me-" I stopped because of his lips on mine. I stiffened, stunned for a moment, but soon the pure sensuality of the kiss reached my bones and melted them. I leaned against him, consumed by the kiss, and so very warm.
I could have stood there forever trapped in his kiss, but he broke it off and looked down at me. "Hungry, my dear?" I blushed, thinking he was referring to something else, until he said, "Nana makes some wonderful crêpes." Crêpes? What were those? And who was Nana?
My stomach growled before I could ask any of those questions. He swooped me up into his arms and carried me into the trees, stopping in front of an orange tree. He lifted his hand and pushed at thin air- or so I thought until it actually opened up into a beautiful Victorian room.
Surprise must have shown on my face, because he chuckled again- it was such a warm sound and made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I shook myself, realizing what I was saying and looked away from him. How could I be such a trader? We were at war with these people! Race! Demons! Whatever!
"Here my dear." I looked up at him, and realized I was seated in a dais, and he was offering me a delicious looking cream filled pastry. I took it gladly and devoured it.
"Thank you!" His grin widened as I looked around for more.
"Still hungry?" I nodded energetically. That pastry had been quite good, but it left one wanting more.
He left for a moment, then came with a plate heavy with, were they called creeps? Such an odd name, but they were very good.
He smiled and sat beside me. I reached up for another creep, but he slapped my hand lightly and offered a bite with his hand. What was he doing? I lifted my hand again to take this one, but he just laughed and slapped it away again. It was then I realized he was hand feeding me! I huffed crossly, but bit it anyways.
"Thank you," I said when I swallowed. He just nodded and offered me another bite. Would the humiliation ever end? Still, it was rather romantic.
I shook myself, and stopped eating. He was my captor! No matter how kind he is, I must not yield!
A frown flitted across his face, but immediately was replaced by a sensual smile. I swallowed nervously. He had something on his mind- something that wasn't exactly innocent.
"Um, you wouldn't happen to want to rel-" he picked me up. "Augh! What are you doing?"
"Well, I just thought you'd like to meet my mother." I grimaced and began struggling frantically. No way was I going to meet his family! It was to intimate! And why did this keep happening when I asked to leave?
"I'll take that as a no, if so, don't mention leaving again." I groaned. He was taking on the role of the conquering male! And he'd been so polite before!
"What do you want with me? I'm a sixteen year old girl!" He just laughed, and this time I found it irritating. "Put me down!"
"If you insist." He dropped me back down on the dais, and again sat beside me. "So you want to know why I brought you here?" He moved his lips by my ear, "I want you." Shivers ran down my spine as he licked my ear.
"Yeah? What if I don't want you?" A strange feeling started in the pit of my stomach as he trailed kisses down my neck.
"I think you do." He whispered and took my lips again. It was then I lost all reason, his flaming kisses woke my dormant desires, and I acted just as wantonly as any of the village whores.
When I woke later that day, tears of shame pricked my eyes. I'd given him my virginity, now I couldn't make an honest match, and he knew it. He also knew my whole village had been massacred, but he kept that from me too. He kept me for months for his pleasure, bringing me little trinkets and making love to me in the nights, sometimes during the day, and during that time I lost my heart to him.
He really is a kind man, a bit unorthodox, but a true sweet heart, and honorable. Or so I thought until I met her.
She was a tall elegant cat demon, with black flowing hair, and full red lips. Her ears were perfect without a chip, and her tail was long silky. She stormed in, demanding to see her fiancé, and what was I doing lying around doing nothing!
I just stared, and then she slapped me. Hard. Tears welled in my eyes as I turned my gaze back to her. "Well? You lazy wench! Where is he?"
I shook my head, mutely telling her I didn't know, and she raised her hand to slap me again. I closed my eyes, preparing myself for the pain. When it didn't come, I opened my eyes and looked up at her. Never had I been so glad to see him, my Leon.
Her upraised hand was clasped in his, her eyes turned up to him in shock. He was glaring down at her, his brow creased with consternation.
"Jillian, what are you doing here? And what were you doing to Serenity?" Jillian spun in his arms and kissed him lightly on the mouth.
"Ah, my dear, it's been so long! And your little servant here wouldn't tell me where you were!" He pushed her away, and turned to me.
"Serenity, are you alright?" He fingered the bruise on my cheek. "No. No your not. I'm sorry Jillian hurt you, my dear." He kissed me tenderly, and I could just feel the rage flowing from Jillian.
"Leon! What are you doing!" He cut off the kiss and turned towards her.
"What does it look like?"
"It looks like you just kissed your slave!" He laughed at her.
"I guess I was, so what? She's my lover." Jillian screeched and spun around, going into the garden. To my dismay, he followed.
When the door closed, I stood to follow. Who was she? Was she really his fiancée? I leaned into the door, pressing my ear against it in hopes I'd hear a bit of whatever he was going to say to her. What I heard wasn't pleasing.
"How could you? We're getting married in three days!"
"I know."
"And yet you have a lover!"
"Yes."
"Do you want to shame me? Do you want to make me jealous?"
There was a moment of silence, and I knew he'd kissed her. "Yes."
I tore myself from the door. To him, I was just a toy, nothing more. I should have realized it from the start. A human and a demon? Hah! Like that could ever happen!
But you still love him, don't you? Said an unnerving little voice within my head.
No! Not anymore! I replied to it with vehemence.
Will you still let him love you? Sleep with you?
Yes, I will use that to escape. Just a little time, that's all I-
The door to the outside world was open; I could see it from here. The door to freedom was open! I looked around for supplies, but stopped. I didn't have much time. They could come through that door at any moment, and I needed to get a head start.
Something glinted on the side of the doorway. A gold encrusted ruby, it would help me survive this!
I snatched it and ran out the door. I would never comeback to this place; it was a past memory that I would look back at fondly and with great sadness.
On my journey, I sold the ruby for a hefty sum. It was enough to get me to a little village far from Leon's home.
"Mom! Look at this look at this!" She turned to the little red head girl.
"Just a second, dear, Mommy's doing something." The little girl nodded and turned, a cattail of the same shade of red flicked as she went back out the door.
It wasn't 'til much later that I found out that I was pregnant. The moment I found out, I decided this baby would be mine, and mine alone. I wouldn't be like the other mothers of half-demons, and I wouldn't give her to Leon. I needed this little consolation, this little girl I hold so close to my heart. I won't let what others think get to me, and I'll protect my daughter with my life.
"Mom! Come on!" Serenity glanced towards the door at her little daughter and smiled.
"Almost done dear." Serenity picked up the pages of her story and sighed. Her hands fingered the name Leon with a smile before she unlocked the desk door and placed the pages with much care inside the desk.
