HOPE YA ALL LURVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I caught the lipstick that Alice had thrown, then quickly started applying it.

"Not much longer to go" Debbie said as she came out of one of the stalls wearing an outfit simular to the rest of us.

I chucked the lipstick to her, then smoothed down my now shoulder-length hair.

"You look great Jules" Nancy complimented as she came to the mirror and started to brush her own hair.

As you could tell, it was finally the showcase night. We were all getting ready in the girls toilets, which had a few other people in there, getting ready for their own acts, or who'd just finished them.

Over the holidays, Mark had called me almost every single day, which was really sweet of him. But I wasn't the only one who'd found romance. Debbie had met this really great guy called Matt, who'd asked her out right off. As for Alice, well, Liam went down to visit her, and, well... now they're a very cute couple. Unfortunately Nancy didn't seem to have had the same luck as us.

"It's a good thing we're last" Alice said trying to work out whether to ruffle her hair or brush it.

"Yeah" I sighed, knowing that Mark would be somewhere in that big crowd, watching.

Anyway, we finished getting ready and left, all of us anxious about our own performance. We made our way behind the hall, to the back stage entrances, where we met up with Miss Lacy.

"Two more acts and then you're on girls. Nervous?"

We all nodded, just as the act that was performing finished. We went backstage, waiting for our que.

After what seemed like forever, it was our turn.

We all wished each other luck, then got into positions behind the closed curtain.

"And now, last but not least, may I present Debra, Julie, Nancy and Alice, dancing to the song 'Try Again' " Mr Hawkins announced.

The curtains parted and the music started up.

Three... two... one, and go!

The four of us danced the whole thing perfectly in sync with each other. When we finished, the crowd roared, whistled, and screamed. I swear I felt deaf as we left the stage to join Miss Lacy.

"I think you got the most applause of all the acts put together" She beamed happily.

"And we owe it all to you Miss" I grinned thanking her with a hug.

After the Showcase, we went to find our boyfriends.

Instead, we found Brant waiting for us.

"Hey girls, your boyfriends are here, waiting to take you to dinner"

"Great messenger they..." I didn't get to finish because I was startled when Nancy went up to him, threw her arms around him and kissed him.

When they parted, Nancy said (after seeing our shocked faces)

"Oh, sorry, I never told you that me and Brant have been going out ever since the second week of the holidays"

"But... but you're always..."

"Fighting? Yeah but we overcame our differences and... here we are" Brant said.

We were still pretty shocked when the eight of us went to a restaurant for dinner. Not one of those classy places, but it was pretty good.

I think Liam and Mark were just as surprised as us since they knew how those two had always been at each others throats.

Matt didn't really care because one, he didn't know them, and two, because Debbie was kind of... keeping him distracted, so to speak. In other words, he couldn't seem to take his eyes off her, and vice-versa.

But other than the Brant/Nancy relationship, it was a really nice night, with Mark being his usual sweet self.

"You guys were really great" he commented when he dropped me off that night.

"Glad you liked it" I smiled sweetly.

"You looked great up there. That haircut really suits you" he continued, running his hands through my hair.

"Thanks" I gushed.

"And your eyes..." he trailed off as I leaned up and kissed him.

When we parted, I saw in the pale porch light what I had done.

"What? What'd I do?" he asked when I started to laugh.

"The lipstick, it's... it's all over... your face!" I explained through fits of laughter.

It was actually just all over his lips, making him look very... feminine.

He wiped it off, then kissed me on the cheek (when I'd stopped laughing)

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow at school"

"Yeah. Sorry about that. I haven't laughed so much since before my birthday, and that was in April"

"It's okay. But it must have been pretty funny to see cause you were laughing so hard"

I nodded, smiling a little.

"Well, anyway, goodnight" he kissed me softly again.

"Yeah, bye" I sighed. I watched as he walked off, then made my way inside.

When I got in, I was surprised to see that my mother, and my three year old sister, May, were still up.

"Hey" I greeted.

"Congratulations Julie" mum said giving me a hug.

"Thanks mum" I replied, returning the hug.

That's when I felt someone tugging on my pants, then a little voice say "Juwlie"

May, of course.

I leaned down and picked her up, giving her a big cuddle.

"She didn't want to go to bed without seeing you" mum explained as May rubbed her eye and pouted her lips, as if trying to prove her point.

"Don't worry, I'll put her to bed" I told my mum, heading upstairs.
