Trying to Purchase Happiness

We try to please ourselves by stepping into
The fake land of happiness
The mall,
Where we try to buy our happiness
And the happiness of others
As though a pair of new, expensive shoes
Will fix our broken dreams
And broken hearts
But it can't
If it does, we're only fooling ourselves.
I wish I had the money to look just like her,
I wish I had the money to buy his love
And make him love me.
I'll buy this,
We'll make love,
But it's only lust you see,
Only lust
To you
But love,
To me
Only just by purchases we make.
