There are always legends of the moon. When a moon is full, the wolf would cry. If you
were born the night of the full moon, it meant bad luck. Then there was that one legend. When
there is a red ring around the night's full moon, blood has, or will be spilled that night, but has
anyone told you the rest of the story? Why does that happened? It was said that the full moon
does not have a red ring for just anyone, it specifically targeted someone.
A girl, sixteen maybe, is related to the first Red Ring. She, herself, would have had nothing to do with the moon's mystery, is she had not taken the occupation of an assassin. Her name? It was Cassandra.
Cassandra had also been called the "red rose", since she would only assassinate those important beings with her knife that had a handle shape of a rose. Her next victim was a millionaire in a small town called Automa. The millionaire's son to be precise. His name was David.
David was a detective, but would kill any who threaten his life, even a woman's or a child's. His unknowing target was Cassandra. He had been searching for Cassandra for years,
since her first assassination of the US president.
Cassandra had arrived in this small town of Automa, hoping to spot the detective's house. She turned her head to see a large home, larger than the other houses. Smirking, she walked over to the front door and left a black rose, her trademark. She rang the door bell, then ran.
David stepped out the door to see the black rose. He leered, pulling out a white rose,
"So. You've finally come out of hiding, have you?" The rose hid his left eye, which had a scar imprint over it. "I'm coming for you, Love," his voice whispered in his sneering tone.
Cassandra saw the detective step outside the door. She crookedly laughed, "Let the games begin." Her cape was pulled by force around her as she turned to the darkness. She had been hunting this dumb detective for two years after hearing of his presence.
David spotted the woman dressed in a tuxedo and cape, running in the darkness. He grinned widely, "Come out, Red Moon!" Cassandra heard his voice, and decided to kill him now. She stepped out of the shadows and into the moon's light. David had never seen such a beautiful woman. Her red hair shimmered slightly, while her eyes glowed darkly, hiding her green eyes. His face reddened.
"Are you ready to die so soon?" Cassandra announced. David drew back, his right twitching.
He laughed, "I will kill you first, my love!" Cassandra pulled out her knife, handle shaped of a rose, and went after David swiftly. David snickered and dodged her attack. She spit on his chest before returning to her defense.
David raised up his white rose, "My, my. I wanted to kill you without having to use this,
but with you stealth, I might just have to. Cassandra bared her teeth, not knowing what this flower could do. She put the scare passed her and charged after David.
David chuckled, "You still don't get it, do you?" Cassandra's eyes widened, falling over. She looked down at her chest to see the white rose stabbed into her. Her eyes had become vague. She glared at him, "What did you do to me?!" "Simple. No one can feel the pain of a rose, because it gives no pain. Usually, it send all sorts of love. My flower is different, though. I dipped the stem into a vile of poison, targeted where your bloodstream ran the quickest to your heart, and pierced through your flesh," David explained.
Cassandra fell on her knees, ripping the rose away. Her vision had become more vague every time she moved. David laughed at Cassandra, who was dying before him. She smiled up at David, "You can laugh, but you won't kill me." David paused, "What are you talking about?! I have poisoned you, which will kill you guaranteed!!" Cassandra pulled out her black rose knife and raised it to her neck, "You won't kill me. Not if I kill myself first." David's eyes widened in fright. He ran after her when she lifted up the knife and stabbed her own neck.
"No!!" David cried, falling on his knees next to the body that was almost dead. "I was suppose to kill you!" Cassandra smiled and looked to the moon, "It's a full moon. I'm glad it was tonight." David looked to the moon to see it glowing red. He backed away, sliding his back on the pavement of the empty road, "What did you do to the moon?! You're cursed, I tell ya! Cursed!" Cassandra pulled the knife out of her neck and threw it at David, stabbing his chest and instantly killing him. She smirked, "You should watch yourself, David. You might just end up staining you rose." She closed her eyes and finally died before the poison got to her.
Since then, when blood was shed on a full moon night, the red ring would show visibly around it. Hence the phrase for the moon: Red Ring.
