She holds her wounded heart

Down by a river of sorrows

Where Ophelia's flower's grow

Beneath a bed of weeping willows

And rests her floral crown

Upon her tear stained pillow

Sending her remaining love

To flow forever down the river

She buries herself inside

The confining shield of a great tree

And lets her heart lie still

With an emptiness it longs to fill

She mourns and cries in grief

Uncontrollably tears flow down

From her eyes the water

Flows forever into the river

Hesitantly he approaches

The sorrowful song which he hears

The kindness, the beauty, the truth

Through her lamenting he knows is there

And approaches he does further

Only to find her sadder still

With her by the water he stays

"Your broken heart I'll protect" he says
