'Stupid moron,' Edge thought to herself as Vaughn's twin brother carried her away, 'he really thinks that he has somehow taken me hostage, actually succeeded in taking me. Little does he know that I am the one who is succeeding by getting him to take me to their Organization headquarters,' she thought to herself trying to resist the urge to laugh out loud and give herself away. Edge was happy, yet also disappointed, that Vaughn's twin was as easily manipulated as Vaughn himself was. Edge had secretly hoped that it was on account that he found her so distracting that Vaughn had been so easily manipulated and tricked, instead she finds out that his brother was just as easy to trick, showing that they really weren't the sharpest pencils in the box. If she had been a vain person then it would have occurred to her that maybe Vincent was just as distracted by her appearance as Vaughn was.

Edge knew without looking outside of the vehicle that Vincent had stopped in front of her house and had attempted to counteract her spell without any results. She wondered what he thought of her now? She knew that he was frustrated as hell, he was mad at her for locking his brother away, he was mad at himself for letting his brother try to take her alone and he was mad at his brother for getting himself caught. So basically he was mad at himself, his brother and her. She didn't know how she knew all of this, but she just did. Maybe it was another one of her powers that was just beginning to show through, or maybe it was that he had powers too and was accidentally projecting his feelings out and she was able to interpret them. Either way she definitely had the advantage in this situation. She didn't know exactly what it was that she was going to do once she got to the Organization's headquarters and was brought in for questioning because she had no idea what to expect. She had never been up against others that had powers too, she couldn't be sure what their powers were or what they intended to do with her, or to her for that matter.

When Edge felt the car come to a stop at least two hours later she still didn't know what she was going to do, but she did know that her best bet at the moment was to continue feigning unconsciousness. So when Vincent opened her door and tried to shake her to see if she would wake up all she did was lay still so that he had to reach in and pick her up out of the backseat. He carried her up a set of four steps and then knocked on a door and waited for it to be opened. Edge was trying to come up with a plan, but she couldn't think straight, his sent was overpowering her, messing with her senses. Then she was put out of her misery when he carried her into a building and set her down on what felt like a couch.

"You can wake up now because I know that you're awake by now," Vincent said from across the room. "Now you are going to answer my questions and you are going to let my brother go," he demanded in a harsh voice that didn't betray how nervous he was. He was unsure as to what he was going to do or how he was going to make her talk, he had never come up against anyone like her and he couldn't get a grip on her mentally or emotionally like he could with anyone else that he had ever come up against.

"Do you really think that you can succeed?" Edge asked between laughs. "You have no idea what you're up against or what I'm capable of you over confidant son of a –"

"I get the point," Vincent interrupted her. "I will however come up with a way to get the answers that I want and the release of my brother one way or another," he added in a menacing voice as he attempted to think of a way to make her talk. Finally he decided that he would have to use physical force in order to make her answer his questions. Vincent used one of his many spells to immobilize Edge so that she wouldn't be able to get away and so that he wouldn't have to get close to her again; there was something very distracting about her. "You will answer my questions," Vincent said again and then proceeded to question her.

Two hours later Vincent discovered that she knew nothing about whom or what she really was; he also discovered that she had tricked him into telling her more than she had told him. She now knew that both vampires and witches really did exist and that her mother had been a vampire while her father had been a warlock. She was awe struck, she didn't know what to think and she was scared too because there truly was evil in her, she just couldn't decide what side of her genes was the evil part. The witches and warlocks said that it was the vampires who were evil, but on the other hand the vampires hadn't been the ones trying to kill her: probably because they didn't know that she existed. What she learned of the most importance of the moment was that Vincent was vulnerable to her because he couldn't control her the way he could everyone else, his mental powers had zero effect on her and he couldn't grasp that fact, he was slightly scared of her because of this.

"You tricked me," Vincent accused, "that was very smart of you," he added smiling more to himself than her really, but that smile affected her and he saw it. He had been trying to distract her long enough so that she would relax her spell some so that the person that was waiting outside of her apartment would have a chance to get his brother out. He now had the advantage that he needed: she was inexplicably attracted to him and she couldn't control it. "I'm going to use your own trick against you," he said as he got up and walked to her and then leaned down and kissed her full on the mouth. She had gone weak when she had kissed Vaughn, but she actually fainted when he kissed her. One second she was fully conscious and enjoying his kiss and then the next thing she was out cold.

Vincent pulled back quickly when he felt her fall into unconsciousness and he suddenly knew that she was no threat and that he would do anything in his power to save her from his own family and friends. When he had kissed her he had seen everything that she was and could be and he knew that she was the only hope for mankind. He was terrified at the power of this slip of a girl and yet he knew that he was also more afraid for her than he had ever been for anyone else. He was about to pick her up and get her out of there when Mr. Winters came in to tell him that they now had his brother and that he would be taking the prisoner to her cell until she could be further questioned.

When Edge regained consciousness she was strapped to a cot in a cell of some kind and there was a scary looking muscle man standing just inside her cell door. She was still a little foggy from the kiss that Vincent had given her and she felt as if she had been totally exposed, stripped bare body and soul. She had also seen into him as he had seen into her and knew that he was the only one that she could trust, she also knew that she had to get out of here before more people knew that she was awake and came looking to torture her or worse: kill her.

"Do you think I could get some water?" she asked in her best weak helpless-female voice. The guard just looked at her as if she were some crazed being and pulled his gun out of it's holster and aimed it at her for good measure. "You shouldn't have done that," Edge whispered in a harsh voice, "I despise guns," she added as she melted the gun in his grasp and then vanished into thin air.

When Edge rematerialized she was in a room that she had never seen before and she wasn't alone. "Hello Vincent," she said into the darkness knowing at once who it was, but not knowing how she had gotten there. "Can I ask how it is that I ended up here instead of at home where I was intending on going?" she asked conversationally as she tried to think of a way to get out of this mess.

"How did you know who it was?" Vincent asked not really surprised that she had known that it was him in the room, considering that he was very conscious of every move that she made and knew that she was just as conscious of his movements. "And as for your question of how you got here, you were the one trying to transport yourself, you tell me," he added slyly, not wanting her to know anymore than she already did; he figured that if she had her secrets it was only fair that he kept some of his own. There was no way that he was going to tell her that during their kiss they had made a connection so that now whenever she wanted to teleport herself anywhere he would be aware of that fact and if he concentrated hard enough he could make her come to him or go with her to wherever she was going. He figured that she would have been heading to her apartment or some other location that she had deemed safe and he didn't know what would have been on the other end so he figured it was safer to have her come to him.

"You know I really don't like you," Edge said childishly with a pout as she stuck her tongue out at him. She had been able to control Vaughn, but the kiss that she and Vincent had shared had linked them somehow so that now if she concentrated she could read his mind. She knew that he couldn't read hers because she had the greater power and could block him out even if he were to attempt to. She couldn't control or even manipulate Vincent and that angered her because she had never come up against someone that she couldn't control. What she needed to do was figure out what made him so special, severe the link and move on before he got close, or closer than he already was.

"Sure that was mature," Vincent told her and couldn't help but smile at her, she could be so adorable. "And I would like to point out that any time you try reading my thoughts you open the link and allow me to read yours in return right?" he asked startling Edge as she was trying to read his thoughts and he had caught her.

"Okay so what do we do now?" Edge asked as she realized that they were at a stand still, neither could make a move without the other having some way of countering the intended move. "You can't do anything without my knowing what you're up to and vice versa, I can't think of anything," she added looking at him expectantly.

"We cooperate and work together, try to help one another," Vincent said rolling his eyes, as if were the simplest thing in the world and she was just too dumb to see it. "I mean its not like we can trick each other because we can't lie to one another. So do we have a partnership?" he asked smiling at her.

"I suppose as long as we don't have any physical contact, I don't want to see what else could happen," Edge replied. She didn't want to admit that if he kept up with the physical contact he might get even closer to her mentally and emotionally and she decided at that moment that no matter what else happened she couldn't allow him to get any closer to her, she couldn't take that kind of emotional blow, not after having been alone for so many years.

"What may I ask is going on here?" a familiar voice asked from behind them and Edge turned to see the last person that she had ever expected to see. It was the first foster father that she had ever had, the one that had up and left her as soon as she had turned six and her powers had started to manifest. She had been hurt deeply by this, she hadn't been able to understand because she had been too young. He was the one who had taught her to never trust again, to never let anyone get close because that gave him or her the power to hurt her.

"You stay the hell away from me!" Edge exclaimed as she realized that even with what had happened she still loved him like a father and that he still had the power to hurt her. She stood there staring at him and then Vaughn walked into the room not looking at all happy.

"Edge-," Dave started, but was cut off by Vincent.

"You two know each other?" Vincent asked as he looked between the two of them. He didn't know how his uncle Dave could know Edge because there was nothing in his portfolio to suggest that they had ever come in contact with one another.

"He was my foster father up until the day of my sixth birthday, when he just randomly walked out on me," was all Edge said before she transported herself home, knowing that Vincent would try to stop her because he could easily keep tabs on her and she knew that he was going to have a tone of questions for Dave, as was Vaughn going to have for Vincent when he started to question why Edge was with him unrestrained instead of in her cell where she was supposed to be.

A/N I know that this was forever in coming, but I just couldn't get my thoughts organized. Well the chapter is done now and I leave you thinking and wondering. Also Ambereye, you should have known that she wouldn't have been taken so easily, you shouldn't doubt my characters.
