Author's note:

Before you read this song, be warned that I wrote it about a friend of mine that I knew since I was a little kid. And that it is somewhat disturbing because of a night I went through as well as the night he went through, though obviously he succeeded & that's what this song is about. How I was denied, but he was not on the night of his suicide.

I tried several times to end my pain

But it was you who succeeded in killing yours

I laid on the floor

Dying slowly

But it was your blood that poured

I was bleeding

But it was you who was truly dying

I didn't ask to be saved

But it was you who couldn't be saved

I was never lost

But it was you who was lost that October night

I do remember you

From so long ago

Will I see you on the other side

Or will this be as forgotten as some wish it would be

I was bleeding

But it was you who was truly dying

I didn't ask to be saved

But it was you who couldn't be saved

I was never lost

But it was you who was lost that October night

I wanted to die

But it was you who felt you had to

I didn't ask to be saved

But it was you who couldn't be saved

I was never lost

But it was you who was lost that October night

My wounds begged for an end

But it was yours that took you to your own

I was denied

But it was you who was not

On the night of your suicide

I didn't ask to be saved

But it was you who couldn't be saved

I was never lost

But it was you who was lost that October night
