Metaphor Galore

I am so sick of the fork in the road

Damn the fork

Damn the spoon

Damn that cow jumping over the moon

I'm done with all of them

Both of them

I don't need them

I don't care about them

Hell, I don't even care how they feel about me!

Hmph!

That should show my heart a thing or two!

But a few seconds later

I'm drawn to them again

Like the overused metaphor of a "moth to a flame"

Of course, damn the flame

Damn the fork

Damn the spoon

Damn that cow jumping over the moon

I'm done with all of them

And I'm getting on with my life

No cow

No spoon

No fork

No moon

No melody to see me through

Cause I'm already through

And done with them

I don't want either of them

But my heart keeps reeling them in

Reeling and reeling

Like a couple of helpless fish

Well, damn the fish

Damn the fork

Damn the spoon

Damn the cow jumping over the moon

I'm done with all of them

For good

So long fork

So long spoon

So long cow jumping over the moon

But wait, why are they all coming back?

Why are they still here?

Damn you metaphors

Damn you!
