"Can you believe it? We'll be thirteen tomorrow!" a girl with two messy black ponytails carried a laundry basket out of the room and towards the stairs.

The girl she was talking to, who had short blonde hair with one shoulder-length lock, followed her. When she saw the stairs, she held out her hand.

"Uh…Tsuki, maybe I should carry the laundry?"

"Nonsense. I can do-waaah!" Tsuki lost her balance and fell down the stairs, accompanied by a shower of clean clothes.

"Oh Tsuki." The blonde girl ran down the stairs to her black-haired friend. "Tsuki! Are you all right?"

"Urg…yeah." Tsuki groaned and climbed out from underneath the laundry basket.

"Tsuki! Did you fall down the stairs again?!" a green-eyed brunette came running down the hall.

"Sorry Hoshi." Tsuki sighed and brushed her bangs out of her face.

"Hmm? What is that?" Hoshi leaned forward and poked Tsuki's forehead.

"Ow! What was that for?!" Tsuki whined, her silver eyes tearing up.

"I thought I saw something on your face." Hoshi shrugged and began picking up laundry, throwing shirts and pants at Tsuki, who laughed and put them in the basket.

"Anyway, aren't you excited that we're all turning thirteen tomorrow?" Tsuki looked at Kasai, who was sitting about halfway up the stairs.

"Actually, I'm kind of scared. I've been having these weird dreams about tomorrow. I just feel like something's going to happen." Kasai sighed and put her head in her hands.

"So have I!" Hoshi and Tsuki said at the same time. They glanced at each other, and for a second, they all felt terrified.

Then the moment passed, and Hoshi continued to throw laundry at Tsuki, who put it in the basket, while Kasai watched, an amused expression on her face.

"I wonder what's taking them so long." The girl ran her fingers through her short silver hair and sighed. "I bet Tsuki had another accident." She opened her purple eyes and looked at the three girls walking in the door.

The first one had shoulder-length brown hair with a red streak in it, held in criss-crossed black ribbons, and green eyes. She was wearing a knee-length black dress with a fitted mock-turtleneck bodice and long sleeves, black ankle boots, and black fishnet stockings.

The second girl was holding a large laundry basket filled with clean clothes. She had black hair that was up in two messy ponytails on either side of her head, and silver eyes. She was wearing a black miniskirt, a purple long-sleeved shirt, and knee-length black combat boots.

The last girl had short blonde hair, one lock of which reached her shoulder, and red eyes. She was wearing a flouncy pink knee-length skirt, a pink turtleneck with long sleeves, and strappy pink high heels.

"Did Tsuki fall down the stairs again?" the silver-haired girl whispered to Hoshi.

"Yeah. She had the laundry basket with her, so we had to pick it all up." Came the grumpy reply.

"Are you talking about me?" Tsuki came up behind them and dropped the large basket, almost squishing their feet.

"Yes. We were." Hoshi sat down and began folding clothes, ignoring the horrified stares of Kasai and Ukiyo.

Usually, when Hoshi was that blunt to Tsuki, the black-haired girl would burst into tears. Thos time, however, she narrowed her eyes at Hoshi. Her eyes began to glow, and her bangs parted, revealing a purple crescent moon emblazoned on her forehead.

"You…bitch!" Tsuki's hair ties exploded, and her hair fell down, hanging a few inches below her shoulders.

"What?" Hoshi whispered, backing away from Tsuki, whose hair was now floating around her she head, acting as if it was immune to gravity.

Tsuki out her hand out, her palm facing Hoshi, and it began to glow purple.

Suddenly a frigid wind blew through the room, knocking Tsuki off balance. When Kasai and Ukiyo looked at Hoshi, they saw that her pupils had disappeared and a red star had appeared on her forehead, just like Tsuki.

"Hmm…" Tsuki put her hand down, and it stopped glowing. (A/N: this is not Tsuki talking) "I see you have awakened to your powers sooner than expected." The voice rang through the small room, startling the two girls. The symbols disappeared and they went back to normal, looking around for the source of the voice.

"What's happening to us?" Tsuki and Hoshi shouted together.

"Well…I suppose you girls deserve to know the truth about your origins." the voice boomed.

"Our origins?" Kasai whispered, looking at the other girls.

"Your mothers…were goddesses."
