For Sale

I can just imagine the day

It'll be just a regular day

'Til I come walking home from the bus stop

The trees will be bare

As they always tend to be at this time of year

And I'll see the neighbor's cat

Strutting along their driveway

And I'll see the sign that'll change my life forever

Someday

"For Sale"

I can just envision the moment

Where my whole view of the world changes

The trees, they won't just be bear

They'll be dead to me as my spirit will be

And I'll see the auto sprinkler

Watering the grass in vain

And I'll see the sign that'll change my life forever

Someday

"For Sale"

Knowing that I'm probably

Gonna have to leave

I can't stand to think about it

Or anything that'll remind me

Of my vision of that moment

On that regular day

I'll focus my emotions inwards

'Cause I'll be wishing then that I don't know how to read

And I'll see the bright red letters

Written with the blood from my heart

And I'll see just where it's placed

Right in my very own yard

And I'll walk up the street

Turn into my driveway

And I'll read the sign that'll change my life forever

Someday

"For Sale"
