A/N: Thanks a million to Raven of Ice! Ok, I was asked to give a description of Lieve, so here goes. Lieve just turned 18 (see chapter 3) and she's a senior in high school. She has long blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and she's on the short side, perhaps 5'4". I hope you enjoy chapter four! Don't forget to R/R!

Lieve was completely smashed. She had downed five beers, a shot of tequila, and was about to grab a bottle of vodka when Wade gently moved her arm away from it.

"Hey!" she shouted in an almost incomprehensible voice. "That's MY vodka. Get yer own, ya big weenie." She took a swipe at her boyfriend and swayed dangerously. Wade caught her and held her upright. He gently took the bottle of vodka away from her.

"Sweetie, you've had enough to drink for one night. I think you should go upstairs and sleep now, hmm? Here, I'll take you up." Letting Lieve lean on his arm for support, Wade began to walk her to the stairs. She repeatedly teetered and fell, and giving up, Wade scooped her up into his arms and carried her up the stairs as she giggled incessantly and kicked her feet in the air.

Wade carried Lieve into her room and laid her gently on the bed, taking off her shoes and pulling the comforter on top of her. She smiled drunkenly up at him.

"Ya know, yer awfly nice…" she said, slurring her words together. "Yer a real gennelman."

Wade was amused. "Thank you," he said with a smile. He kissed her on the cheek, smelling the alcohol on her breath. She smiled, then drifted off to sleep.

Her dreams were haunted by Charles, her mind replaying what had happened between them:

"Lieve, I love you. What we have is perfect," he said, his voice soft and tender. His hands caressed her smooth, bare skin, brushing against her stomach and slowly moving up. His fingers traced her breasts and she sighed with pleasure. He moved his hands to her back and kissed her, his tongue parting her willing lips. She kissed him back with passion, her hands running through his perfect blonde hair. He moved his lips down to her neck, leaving a trail of kisses along her collarbone, making her shudder.

She was in ecstasy. No one had ever made her feel this way before. His body felt warm against hers, and she knew that he wanted her. She wanted him too, more than anything, but she was afraid. She hadn't told him that she was a virgin…

"Oh man," groaned Lieve as she woke up with an excruciatingly painful hangover. She squinted as the sunlight poured in through the windows. Half awake, she stumbled into the bathroom and took an aspirin, then trudged back to her bedroom. It was then that she noticed the figure lying fast asleep on the floor.

Wade lay on her rug with nothing but a couch cushion for a pillow and his own jacket for a blanket. He had stayed the night to watch over his highly intoxicated girlfriend. It took a minute for Lieve to figure out why he was there. She quickly went to the linen closet and got out a blanket for him. As she covered him, he smiled in his sleep, muttering something about parking meters.

"Wow," she thought, suppressing a laugh. "I owe him big time for this. I must have acted like an idiot last night. I don't even remember what happened after I walked in on Charles…" Then, the full blast of last night's events hit her. She felt tears beginning to well up in her eyes as the image of Charles and that whore, whoever she was, flitted across her mind. She couldn't stand being in the same room that it happened in, and she ran out the door and into the bathroom, slamming the door behind her.

This woke up Wade, who sat up and looked around, confused. Just then, the phone rang. Wade blinked, then stood and trudged to where the sound was coming from. He found the phone next to the bed in Lieve's parents' room. "Hello?" he said, picking up.

"Hey, is Lieve there?" asked the voice on the other line.

Wade yawned. "I think she's in the bathroom right now. Who is this?"

"It's Mikaela. This is Wade, right? You stayed the night?" she asked.

"Yeah, what's going on?"

"Well, I just wanted to talk to her and make sure she's alright," said Mikaela, sounding concerned.

"I think she's ok, but she probably has a massive hangover," Wade replied. "She was completely smashed last night."

"Yeah, she was. But then again, I would have been smashed too if it had happened to me. I mean, especially after what Charles did to her…" she trailed off.

"Why, what happened?" asked Wade.

"You mean she hasn't told you?" asked Mikaela, sounding shocked.

"Told me what?" Now he was really confused.

"You know, if she hasn't told you yet, I don't really think I should tell you either. I don't think she'd want me to. I guess she'll tell you when she's ready… Anyway, I just wanted to make sure she's alright. Tell her I called, ok?" she asked.

"Yeah, I'll tell her," he replied. They hung up, and Wade walked back into Lieve's room and sat on the bed. What was it that Lieve hadn't told him?

"Hey." Lieve's quiet voice snapped him out of his thoughts. He looked up at her. Her eyes were bloodshot, as though she had been crying.

"Hey," he said, going over and giving her a hug. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm alright, I guess," she replied. "Kind of hung over, still kind of upset."

"Are you hungry at all?" Wade asked, smiling.

"Yeah, a little."

Wade's smile broadened. "How about I make some french toast?"

"You can cook?" Lieve asked. She was genuinely surprised.

"Well, my cooking abilities are pretty much limited to pasta, french toast, and grilled cheese, but I can make those pretty well," he said, chuckling. "That is, if I don't burn them."

"Alright, I'd like to try your french toast," said Lieve, smiling a little.

The two of them walked downstairs together and Lieve sat down at the kitchen table while Wade started getting out the ingredients. She sat silently for a minute or two while he cooked, and once the bread was in the frying pan, he turned to talk to her.

"Mikaela called a little while ago. She wanted to know how you were," he said.

"Oh really? I'll have to call her back later," Lieve replied.

Wade pondered how he should approach the topic of Charles. He really wanted to know what it was that Mikaela wouldn't tell him. At the same time, he didn't want to upset Lieve.

As she watched her boyfriend, Lieve sensed that there was something he wanted to say. "Wade, is something wrong?" she asked.

"Hmm?" he asked, looking up. "Oh, nothing, just something Mikaela said."

"What did she say?" Lieve asked nervously. "Oh please say she didn't tell him…" she silently prayed.

"She just said something about Charles, but I didn't really understand it…" Lieve breathed a sigh of relief. "…and she told me to ask you."

Lieve felt her stomach do a nervous flip-flop. She really didn't want to tell him. Luckily, the smoke detector bailed her out.

"Oh shit! The toast!" Wade shouted as he turned off the burner and quickly chucked the blackened toast into the sink. Lieve cracked up with laughter while watching him panic. The smoke detector eventually shut off, and Wade turned to her, looking incredibly embarrassed. "I'm really sorry," he said. "I guess I just got distracted."

"It's alright," said Lieve, highly amused at the inability of men to cook. "We can have my specialty: cereal a la Lieve." She got out some cereal, milk, and two bowls and spoons.

"Um…so anyway, I was talking to Mikaela…" Wade began awkwardly. Lieve stiffened, knowing what he was going to ask. "…and she said that I should ask you about it. So…what's going on?"

Eyes downcast, Lieve gave Wade his cereal. He could tell that she really didn't want to talk about it.

"Hey," he said soothingly as she sat down. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. It's ok." He rubbed her back as she smiled lightly. She knew that she was lucky to have such an understanding boyfriend. Maybe someday she'd tell him. Maybe…

A/N: Yeah, I know, it's my second author's note, but I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for this chapter being so short! I stopped because I wanted to keep you all in suspense as to what exactly happened between Charles and Lieve. Her dream is a bit of a hint, but it's not the full story, so stay tuned! Again, a million thanks to Raven of Ice!
