Salt

She's kissing that man now
and he can barely taste the salt
on her lips from her last snack,
a little bit like him
but you're watching her
and you know, yes, you know
you turned the sugar bitter
as it burns at your heart
and she's kissing that man
with his hands on her hips
shoving her up against the wall
when you only pushed her down
and she's looking past him
as if it's just another chore
but you're looking without eyes
as she's kissing that man
whispering those non-words
underneath her breath, that tastes
like she swallowed the ocean
without regard for the starfish
plucked from the relentless sky
because you turned the sweet sour
when you left, just watching
as she's kissing that man now
and more.
