I once thought of him as a rival;

These days, I call him a friend.

More than just social survival

Is what matters in the end.

I really don't know what was wrong with me,

I shouldn't have felt that way.

He was always my friend, but I just couldn't see;

And I regret that to this day.

Now we've shared many laughs and good times,

And to a movie we even did go.

I hope he's forgiven my numerous crimes,

Though of them he never did know.

He's also a spiritual brother,

Whose heart for the Lord is clear.

I know that we pray for eachother;

There is no enmity here.

We're not the most close friends, but we don't have to be.

God's love and fellowship unite us all.

We are brothers in Christ, I and he,

And thus, our bond will not fall.
