Hmm...I can't say much before hand because this kinda lets you think about what's going on before I get to the point... Well, the story is 300-words (it was a personal challange of mine to write it as such)...

Well, besides that I'll just simply say:

Enjoy! (and please Review...I really want to see if I should even bother posting these strange shorts of mine)

Worse than Rejection…

By: Silena Buckelew

January 12, 2006

I wish that I could stand before you and say how I feel…

Thunder crashed; lightning flashed.

You barely know me but I know that I was meant to be by your side…

Rain fell from dark clouds; puddles formed beside a gravel road.

I had hoped that you felt the same for me as I did for you…

A lone car stopped on the edge of the road; the driver's side door opened.

I didn't quite understand when you told them you were going to get rid of me…

A man stepped out of the car and made his way around to the back of the car.

I don't want to be alone…

The man opened the trunk.

Can you live without me…?

A small, simple, and old cardboard box set in the trunk.

I existed merely to make you happy…

The man picked up the box and set in near a mailbox that stood along the side of the road.

How can you leave me so easily…forget all we had…?

The man brushed his hands and shut the trunk.

Now to be forgotten and left for not…

The man moved around to the driver's side of the car.

So you have forgotten what we had…

Thunder flashed, illuminating the words written upon the box as the rain tapered off.

Or did you ever remember me at all…?

The words of the box came clear in the light; "Old Toys" was written in heavy black marker.

Not even a good-bye…

The man got into the car and shut the door.

Do you even realize my existence…?

The car shifted gears and drove back onto the road.

So…

The car drove off…

This is abandonment…

The car faded into the distance…

To be forgotten is…

Thunder flashed.

Worse than rejection…
