These were written for my Creative Writing class (well, only the bottom one was, since it could only be one quatrain), but I rather liked them so I'm putting them here.
Dancing
A single point of satin dulled
Through years of use and wear;
Upon it all my hopes will rest,
A shelf for all my cares.
I'll dance away into the night,
A feather on the wind,
Until I reach your arms so warm
And rest upon your skin.
For all the joy that dancing brings,
And love for stages bright,
You're always there for me to find,
There after all the lights.
Music
It dances through the air so soft,
And capers to my ears,
A million sounds to ease my thoughts,
A song to soothe my fears.
