Never Meant to Belong
Tears fall, quietly in the mist
Faint against a shivering light,
Quivering as each drop slips
Lost within the dark of night.
Pain resounds in agonizing silence.
Bits and pieces of a weeping heart.
The torn seams of time and space,
Drift in remembrance, now, further apart.
No more words to hold on,
Simply pleas to defy destiny.
Dreams given to stars now gone,
Happiness thrown from memory.
Every moment, an eternal promise.
Every gentle tune aching in sorrow.
Shattered emotions crying to the wind,
The echoing of regret that soon follow.
Fragments of a broken will,
No longer holding on.
The grieving light, now surreal,
Never meant to belong...
