Laughter and Woe

My soul would sing but there is sorrow

I find it in everything, for I feel hollow

A part of me is missed

Perhaps it lies in a dark abyss

Where no light is shed

Where fallen angels find their breath

And cast their laughs to the optimistic

As their lives grow chaotic and ballistic

They find such horrible joy from many woes

Humanity knows how life sometimes goes

One day you're up, one day you're down

Earlier there's a smile, later there's a frown

Depression, anger, loneliness

A sleepless night with more stress

There are many to turn to but week look away

Instead we bottle it up, attempting to be brave
