candle in the wind
so easy to forget, the meaning of suicide. all he had to do was listen to all the stories of how people's lives have changed now that they've been down that road. he never intended to assume that it would all be okay; it just happened like that.
he forgot what it really meant. he forgot that the people saved were flukes, not givens.
it was so easy to believe that his life would be changed, not ended. never ended. it was so easy to pretend that when it was over, he'd be better for it.
not dead. never dead.
