A dark stone grave,

Staring you cold in the face.

It reminds you of pain,

A most unfamiliar place.

Your friend has passed on,

And left you alone.

To face the troubles of the world,

All on your own.

You try to smile,

To hide the pain,

Soon you realize,

That it is in vain.

You need a higher help,

To see you through,

You go to the church,

And take a place in a pew.

You listen to the pastor,

As he preaches the Word,

You feel comfort,

In every verse you've heard.

Remember the love,

Remember the loss,

Combine it together,

And leave it on the cross.
