Her Lover
As their last note dies
Her lover falls to the ground
Her world goes gray
And her heart begins to pound
The other couples dance on
Oblivious to her pain
The others twirl round and round
And her heart, she feels it break
Her lover begins to fade
From this dance that we call life
And she begs, and pleads, and cries to God
To let him live this night
But the darkness gives way to dawn's rosy glow
And her lover, still he sleeps
Her hope it dies
And she wanders why
Her lover she can't keep
