Red Letters

The dullness of the room evades,

Also allowing a last masquerade,

Muffled voices pushed aside,

Large red letters leave me dissatisfied,

Toned down colours around the room,

Alludes the life inside mistaken gloom,

Broken items smashed on the floor,

Ripped from bodies trampled through the door,

Mistakes and silent screams around,

Whispers and papers and smiles upside down,

Critical fingers point unto me,

Cheating liars vain hypocrisy,

Poppies in a deserted field,

Boys with medals unable to yield,

Glazed over eyes unable to read,

Cleaned up blotted from a secretive dead
