Note: For Dr. Smith

An intelligent façade covers your truth
You don't understand what it's like to be me
You nurture me with poison
Your cool words leave burn marks on my heart

I hold back the tears full of your acidic lies
I bow once more to your twisted advice
I become a no one once more
I am a no one—I'm a student

Nurture me with your venom
Love me with your hate
Embrace me with your thorns of Stone
Tutor me with your naivety

I am just an ignorant child
A young woman nearly eighteen
Pierce my brain with fathomless confusion
Let me see through your eyes

A/N: Sorry that this is such a weak poem. I only had a few minutes to write it, but I'm sure we can all relate to this -- administrators who treat us students as nothing more than that--students. But, yeah. Sorry again. Damaged
