"The Floor"

By:Cassandra Freiborg 3/9/06

Dedicated to Maren T. "A happy poem"

Eyes cast down,

at the floor,

cant look up,

its much to bright,

for my eyes of darkness.

Cant face the light,

they shine one me,

it stings,

because I dont deserve it.

I stick to the walls,

avoid contact,

until a hand reaches out,

takes mine,

and I look up and am blinded.

By the light of your smile,

your face,

your being.

For once,

it doesnt hurt my eyes,

and for once,

I dont want to look back down,

at the floor.
