Resistance

He knows me, he sees me

Understands the real me

He's afraid because he cares

Tears himself up inside just for acceptance

He hides from his emotion

Carries my heart in the palm of his hand

Tries to stifle these feelings

That he doesn't understand

Reassures me that I can

Be myself with no restraint

But these chains are so much harder than

You'd think they were to break

Building a wall of resistance

He's hesitant to start

Lying to the world

and ripping himself apart
