A/N: I'm not sure if this is very good, it's just something I randomly thought up while sitting in my room listening to music. Please don't flame, it just wastes my time and yours.

Anything relating to another story is entirely coincidental and I apologize.

The Brown Skirt

She was the girl who no one ever noticed. Walking down the halls of her school in sweatshirts and baggy jeans and hiding her emotions behind red-framed glasses. She was quiet, always reading or scribbling something down in a notebook she always carried with her. Her blond hair was chopped short, almost (but not quite) reaching her shoulders.

Walking down the halls of her school, she was plain-looking. Her clothes hiding her figure – if she even had one. She had few friends. She had average grades and average looks. Only one person actually insisted, almost every day, that she was beautiful and had something not every girl has.

She would go home and throw her backpack down on the kitchen floor and grab a can of soda before making her way down to her room. In her room, she walked to her closet and turned on the light. Her clothes were mostly the same: sweatshirts and t-shirts with plain, faded-from-use jeans. But she would turn to a box in the corner of her closet that held a pair of beaded shoes, a form-fitting tank-top, and the brown skirt.

She would change into the clothes that were so different from her usual choices and walk into the bathroom branching from her room. In there, she removed her glasses and slipped on her rarely-used contact lenses. She would slowly walk back into her room and stand in front of her mirror. And she saw it. She saw what the one person always saw. She was...pretty. Not beautiful with her somewhat straight figure (not much of a chest to speak of), but her long legs were shown off by the flowing, brown skirt.

She would smile and change back into her regular clothes, slipping the shirt, shoes, and the brown skirt back into the box in the corner of her closet.

One morning, the girl woke up earlier than usual. And braver than usual. She slowly walked to her closet and went to the box in the corner of her closet. She took out the beaded shoes, the form-fitting tank-top, and the brown skirt. She slipped them on and put on her contact lenses. She stood in front of the mirror and gazed at her reflection.

She was snapped out of her silent thinking by her mother calling and saying the bus was going to come soon. The girl walked to her bedroom door and paused. She ran back to the closet and then the bathroom.

She climbed onto the bus, her usual baggy sweatshirt and jeans hiding her figure and her emotions hidden behind red-framed glasses. She was the girl no one noticed. But it wouldn't always be that way. Not as long as she still had a pair of beaded shoes, a form-fitting tank-top, and the brown skirt...

A/N: Well, what do you think? I actually like it. Review?
