The duct tape only holds me together so long,
Fishnets only hide the cracks,
I can only stand so much pushing,
Before I reach the edge and fall.

It tempts beguiling and conniving,
Winking at me in the light which filters through,
It waits,
Hoping I slip and trip dragging my feet behind me over the side,
Through the air, to the ground.

I wait for it winking back,
I can only resist so long,
I know this,
And so I except my fate with waiting arms expecting it to abate.
