Photographs fade as years pass,
Time stolen before my eyes,
Memories bittersweet and worn
Remember that life?
Those curtains in the living room
Bleached by the sun
Shag carpets dotted with stains
From the champagne we drank on
Our first night in wedded bliss.
Life, threadbare but happy,
Is now just a memory captured
On tattered scraps of paper,
Four by six squares of frozen time.
