Ode to My Purple Pen

Oh my pen

My beautiful ballpoint pen

Such an ingenious contraption

With a plastic cap

Used as a stylish hardhat.

Located inside is

A thin clear tube

Filled with violet ink

That makes up

Your heart

Your soul

Your spine

From your head protrudes

A small metal tip

With a small metal ball

That lets flow

Your lovely ink

Dispensing in thin lines

Smooth as blown glass

Dancing across my paper

Writing everything that my hand commands

Tranquil in my grip

Rubbing like a cat

Against my writer's calloused finger

Oh my pleasingly perfect purple pen

Though your kind come a dime a dozen

To me you are a gem.

Review and let me know what you think!
