Dark Forest House
A dark room in a house no one remembers,
In a land no one can find;
Only those who know where to look,
Where to go.
Land without light, without hope or love
Choked by twisted trees and tangled undergrowth,
Forgotten by time and angels of old;
It sits alone and wastes away
Day after day.
Hoping maybe someone remembers,
Someone kind enough to come back again
To fix up the sagging floorboards and broken windows,
Add light to a place full of darkness and despair,
And restore the hope of a time long past.
Once full of laughter of small children;
A family we all wish we had.
Now nothing but the old house remembers
Or understands how much you miss
When all is lost.
