Under an oak tree

In the dark

I see you.

Or, at least what's left.

You stand there.

Silent, unwavering.

I feel the breeze tangle my hair.

Play with it.

Your silent way.

Playful, carefree

You know me.

I keep everything inside.

You look at me.

I see the mourning in your eyes.

All you ever asked me.

To let it out.

Cry for me,

Your eyes seem to say.

Let it go.

Release yourself.

I look away.

To regain myself.

I look back,

And you disappear.

A single moment.

One look, one request.

Cry for me.

So I sit down, and I do.
