I once was walking near a stream
Through the mist his eyes stared agleam
I couldn't help but start to scream.
I stood and trembled in utter fear.
My eyes were locked into a stare.
At the ghastly face that was so near.
Perhaps that night it was just fate
I shouldn't have been out so late
The face, the face! With mouth agape
The skin-bare bones
The awful moans
Ah! I should have known!
At the apex of my terror,
I realized the stream was just a mirror.
My reflection just got clearer.
