I am from simplicity,
where flowers thrive,
and children cry,
for they are filled with joy and laughter.
I am from a world filled with words,
that shape what I am, see, hear, and feel.
I am from a place where tears are shed,
for we cannot take back the past.
Where the sun only shines,
on the other side of the jungle gym.
I was once told, "Stay positive, you'll get there"
Yet the other side has never seemed so far.
But now that voice is distant,
and it is no longer persistent.
I stand here under the slide
and try not to cry,
but the lies still fly past my eyes.
I am from the land of snapping sharks,
and kind hearts.
Let there be complications…
