I'm battered, beaten and bloody

And searching for a remedy

That's apparently hard to find

The painful journey that I'm on

Must have some destination

A place where I reach the end of the road

Rest and catch my breath

Find the purpose for the suffering

Find the reason for the pain

Because I'm struggling

Not to cry too loudly

And to hide the tears

That I have let fall

The sobs are so deep and severe

That my chest hurts with each one

The hardest part

Is that I dare not show anything
