Maggie pet Ron's paw, trying to think of something to talk about. Ron wrapped his tail around Maggie's.
"So.. uhh… Ronnie, I was-"
"What did you call me."
..Ron…"
"There was defiantly a 'nie' at the end of it."
"Was not!"
"Was to!" Maggie pouted. Ron licked the top of her head. "I like it that way." Maggie was embarrassed and hid her face under her paws. After much more cuddling it was time for Maggie to go back inside. They licked each other good-bye.
In the house, Rae was having bows put in her hair by the lady of house. She had always wanted a daughter. Rae was purring so loudly Maggie heard her from three rooms away. When Maggie found Rae she jumped out of Miss. Lady's lap and walked away. Maggie followed and Rae walked faster, her little bows bobbing up and down. Eventually they were both full-out running. Maggie pounced on Rae and held her down.
"Rae twinsie, what are you doing?"
"What am I doing!? What were you doing? Do you realize I've had to play all by myself all day? I was reduced to pink bows!" Maggie blinked at her.
"But… Ronnie and me and… I thought you liked bows…"
"Eww… pet names…" Rae finished storming off to their room. Maggie sat down in the middle of the hallway. Miss. Lady found her and proceeded to brush her long fur. Maggie hardly purred at all. When she was covered in enough bows to meet household standards she went to her room to find Rae lying on her back bating meekly at a toy. Maggie nuzzled her cheek and she rolled away. Maggie sighed and sat down.
"Your bows look… pretty adorable…" Rae was silent. "Maybe you and I and Ronnie could play a nice three kitty game." Rae groaned. "Or not…"
"Ron is silly… and he cuddles too much." Maggie nuzzled Rae again.
"But you like cuddles."
"Yeah, when I'm the one getting them." Maggie sat silently for a moment.
"There's only one solution to this problem. Ronnie must be made a house cat." Rae sat up and looked at her.
"I think all that cuddling went to your head. The family will never accept him."
"We've just have to make him look fancy."
"But… we can't play croquet without opposable thumbs." Maggie sighed. At least Rae wasn't mad at her anymore.
Maggie dug through a box of toys. Rae was dodging stuffed mice and bouncy balls that Maggie threw behind her.
"Found it!" she sung. She had an old collar in her mouth. "The first step is a fancy look. Grab the brush!"
"Yes, Cap'n" Rae saluted. They went frolicking outside. Maggie started calling for Ron. Within moments he was visible. "Stalker…" Maggie ignored the comment and grabbed the brush.
"It's time for your fancy lessons."
"But I didn't sign up for any fancy classes…"
"That's OK!" Maggie started brushing away. Ron was yelping from the number of snarls and mats in his fur. Rae followed behind Maggie, licking all the fur down. In 45 minutes they had a well groomed cat, or at least as well as a cat with a brush in her mouth can groom. Maggie picked the collar up, but Rae had been right. Opposable thumbs might be a necessity in being fancy. Maggie and Rae fussed with the collar, chocking Ron a few times, but failed in putting it on.
"Umm… we'll come back to that. It's time for food lessons." Maggie led them quietly into the house, making sure Ron was not discovered until he was fully taught. "This is a food bowl. We eat out of it." Ron glared at her.
"I know what a bowl is."
"Ok, eat out of it." Ron started at the food face first. Rae was glad he wasn't eating all her food. "No no no, one bite at time, about, say this big." Maggie nuzzled a piece. "Only take four chews per bite."
"What if I'm not done chewing in four bites?"
"Swallow it anyway. Now eat!" Ron was trying to follow all the instructions at once, but it was hard. And then Maggie started poking him all over. "You're not sitting right. Keep eating." Now they were both poking him and criticizing his eating methods. Maggie poked his rib so hard he chocked on a piece. "There's no chocking in this house!" Ron's ears drooped. Being fancy was hard. But Maggie forced him to keep practicing. When at last he had mastered eating, and Maggie had no more food in her bowl, the twins decided he was ready.
Collar in mouth, Ron padded up to the lady of the house, the sisters following behind. At first she thought he was some deranged cat, just wondering into her house. But then she noticed the collar. She took it out of his mouth and read the address. She stared at the collar, then back at the cat. She picked Ron up, put him in her lap, and called a maid to get a vet to the house. The twins cuddled each other, then jumped into Miss. Lady's lap. Maggie fell back out from lack of space. She forced her way back into the lap. All three kitties cuddled each other, and Ron gave Magdalene an extra lick on the nose. Rae pouted so he gave her one, too. And Miss. Lady had a heap of happy kitties in her lap.
A/N: This story was really hard to write and turned out really sucky. Ever try thinking like a romantic cat? Don't even bother asking for another chapter or a sequel. It's over. coughMaddyandRobcough
