Watching her, one would be sure

That she was really nervous

But she wasn't

Her eyes, looking right and left

Repeatedly, searching

For a familiar face, his face

If she closed her eyes

She couldn't see his face

In her mind

Yet when her eyes were free

To gaze around the room

She would search

Constantly, she searched for him

Just a glimpse was all she needed

One quick look

And she didn't know his name

Or why she looked for his face

In a crowd

But she needed to see him

One more time, all the time

In order to survive
