The "Slow" Ones

We were geniuses in all but one class,

The one in which we fell on our – well, you know.

The one class where we were considered "slow",

Where we were the lowest of the low,

Whether we had to run, jump or swim,

The bane of our school existence was the class called Gym.

Yes, we were mocked by all the athletes,

Because we could never quite match their feats.

We were the ones less "physically able".

Was it our fault that we weren't that stable?

Clobbered by a fly ball,

Then teased and laughed at by all,

Our eyes kept moving towards the clocks,

To learn how much longer we had to endure the jocks.

We couldn't stand that class, Phys. Ed.

Relief came when the teachers finally said,

"Class Dismissed!"

"We hate all of this physical activity" we hissed,

"Couldn't we just learn these sports from a book?"
