A NEW STORY
GOOD CATHOLIC FAMILY
The house at 2840 Front Street was Victorian. Three pointed spires jutting out from 2nd floor turrets rose to God as a space shuttle escapes its wretched earth. The yellow siding showed wear; the brown shingled roof in disrepair. This house of faded glory is populated by husband and wife legal team Francis and Rebecca DeLone, their twenty year old son Michael, and their fifteen year old daughter, Renee.
A good Catholic household, the DeLone family practice their faith thoroughly: prayers at the bedside early morning, grace before meals, Sunday church-going, and splendid appearance. Adhering again to their faith, the DeLones each practice the central tenant of Catholicism on a day to day basis; that is, hypocrisy. Francis's home and office computers hold equal shares of child pornography, and he had molested his son four times, fourteen years ago ("This is our little secret," he told Michael every time the deed was done). Rebecca frequently engages in acts of sexual deviation with two male friends of hers, old high school boyfriends - their activities were not separate. Michael is an alcoholic and junkie. Renee is a sex addict, taking after her mother in that she keeps "all doors open."
