Last Thoughts

There will come soft rains,

Days dark and bleak, full of pains,

Monsters lurking in the dark,

Pacing furiously, waiting to leave their mark,

Out of space, out of time.

Helpless, hurt, and lying here,

Not very different from a paralyzed deer,

Drowning in a sea of black,

There's a rope, but nothing but slack,

Out of space, out of time.

Voices whispering dark and deep,

Luring you into eternal sleep,

The storm thunders around you, full of rage,

Locking you in an inescapable cage,

Out of space, out of time.

The waters rage around you, in greens and blues,

Lapping and panting in an array of other unimaginable hues,

Flailing in this drowning place of impeding danger,

Dying slowly with so much anger,

Out of space, out of time.

You started out with so much hope,

Now you're sliding down this slippery slope.

Out of space, out of time.

Tears of anger, tears of rage,

Absolutely no reason for you to have died at this age,

Out of space, out of time.

You can feel the blood running, you're beaten and cut,

Your energy is diminishing and your eyes go shut,

Out of space, out of time.

Death is coming and he can't wait,

You silently scream, Its not too late,

Out of space, out of time.

Your mind fades away to nothing but black,

Your name is just another in the government's stack,

Out of space, out of time.

Life is a black and brutal quest,

It stabs you in the back and again in the chest,

You are out to save the world in the beginning,

But truth kicks in and the despair has no ending,

And in the end we are all just the same,

Out of space, out of time with no one to blame.
