Rain

Gazing off into the night,

Where twinkling starlight breaks the dark,

And yellow moon is stained with blood

When shadows move with liquid grace

With black intent and malice.

Reflecting on times long ago,

Of battleships and anguished cries,

Fearful sounds of suffering and pain;

Of silver glinting and biting flesh,

And white-hot fire burning the skies,

Painting them with the fallens' blood.

Hatred, rage, despair-

Overwhelming emotions drowning out reality.

But through these feelings,

A ray of light,

A golden epiphany,

Breaks through the torrential rain.

This beam of hope enlightens us all,

And ignites our pride and joy.

Through times of hardship,

Hard no more,

We smile and run through the rain.
