I made through the rest of the night without accident. It was 3:55 when the last person left. I wiped the bar down and took inventory. I grabbed my tips, counted them and wrapped a rubber band the money. I walked over to Wyatt and tried no to star at him. I smiled and gave him my inventory list. He smiled back and place the paper on top of a stack. He handed me my schedule. I thanked him and walked out the door.

It was 4:30 when I got in my tuck. I sat back in the driver's seat and took a deep breath. All right Evelynn, he's your boss. He most likely sees you as an employee. No need to get your panties in a bunch, Girl. He is just your boss. You never mix business with pleasure. Unless it the business of pleasure. Oh my gosh, can't believe I just thought that. I hit myself on the forehead. Your life is complex enough, Chick. No need to add another piece to your fucked up puzzle.

I sighed and crank up my tuck. I drove home. The place was quit when I walked in through the mudroom. I crept up the stairs to my room. I took a quick shower and changed into some boxers and a tank top. I fell into the bed and passed out.

"Yo, E-girl! Wake up," a voice said.

I swatted at the hand that shook me and said, "Five more minutes."

"No, get up your lazy ass up," the voice said as it ripped the covers off of me.

I shot up and yelled, "Damnit Ethan, Why must you do that shit!"

"Because I can and plus, your phone has been ringing for the past twenty minutes," he said with a smile.

I rubbed my eyes and growled at him. He just smiled back and left my room. I stretched my back and scratched my belly as I reached for my cell. I checked the missed calls and messages as I walked towards my bathroom. I flinched at the mirror as I looked at my hair. I tried to smooth it down. I quickly gave up and jumped into the shower. After a quickie and brushing my teeth, I walked out to my room and into my closet. I put a matching set of girl boxers and bra on. I pulled out a pair of ripped khaki Bermuda shorts and a blue shirt that said, "My Boyfriend's Hotter Than Yours" in bold red writing. I put on the outfit and a pair of white and blue Vans.

I pulled my hair into a quick bun and walked downstairs to the kitchen. I found my brother sitting at the inland with a plate of waffles, his laptop and reading a newspaper.

I sighed and said, "I wonder if you're from this planet some times."

He laughed and folded the paper. He placed it on the inland and pushed the plate of waffle towards me. "Eat them before they get cold," he said as he walked toward the refrigerator.

I sat down and grabbed the syrup. He pulled out the orange juice and asked, "How was work?"

I cut into the syrupy waffles and said, "Great. I have a new boss and I totally think he's cute."

Ethan walked over with a glass of juice and said, "Good, Good." He sat on the inland in front of me.

"No, Ethan, that's bad. He's my boss, my employer," I said as I waved my fork.

He looked up from his laptop and said, "And."

I coughed on my juice and said, "And? And he's my boss! I should not having these kinds of thoughts about my boss."

"You can have them as long as you don't act on them," Ethan said as he typed away.

"But I don't know if I can't have them without acting on them. He's so fucking good looking. His grey eyes and chocolate skin. Oh my goodness, the things I could do to that man."

"Okay, X-rated. I do not need to know what the thoughts are, Evelynn. You are totally over sharing," my brother said, as he looked wide-eyed at me.

I placed my fork down and said, "I'm sorry, but he's so damn sexy." "Over sharing again. I don't talk about girls with you," he said. "Yes, you do," I said as I pointed at him.

"Okay, I do, but I don't want to hear my sister talk about boyfriend material. It kinda freaks me out," he said as shook.

"That is so not fair. I have to listen to you talk about girls, but you can't hear me talk about boys."

"Yes, it's a brother thing. I'm sorry. I just can't do. Go to Cee, Cee for that. It makes me all weird inside," he said as he rubbed his chest.

I threw my fork at him. He ducked and busted out laughing. "I'm sorry, Eve," he said as climbed out his seat still laughing.

I huffed and went to get another fork. I sat down at the inland and finished my waffles. Ethan safely made it back to his seat and continued doing whatever on his laptop. I placed my dishes in the dishwasher after I finished.

"Hey, where's Cee, Cee?" I asked as I leaned against the sink looking out the window.

"She said she had to go somewhere and would be back soon," Ethan said.

"Oh, well alright. E-boy, I'm going out back to feed the horses make sure you put something in Phantom's and Duck's bowl."

"Way ahead of you, Sis," Ethan said as he waved towards me.

I smiled and walked out the door.

Phantom's our black lab and Duck's our cat. We were weird children what to you want. We got them for our fourteenth birthday. I wanted a dog and so did Ethan, but Mother got a cat instead of having two dogs. She said two dogs are expensive. Whatever, we have two horses. I walked through the fence, out back behind the stables and filled two buckets with oats. I also grabbed a few carrots. I walked in and placed the buckets on the hooks on the inside of the doors. The two quickly dove into the buckets.

Normally, a person with horses has a favorite one, but I don't. I love both of these horses the same. I patted Lovely on her white nose as I feed her carrot. I quickly went over to Starlight and gave him one. I opened the stables doors and let them out for a while. I walked out in the field and watched the white and brown horse ran along the fence. I sighed and leaned against the stable as I filled their water trench. As I bent over to shut the water off, Ethan walked in.

"Cee, Cee back, Evee."

I stood up and by Starlight and said, "Okay"

"You really love those horses, don't you?" he asked as he looked at the sky.

"Yeah, they're the only thing left I have from him," I said as I brushed Starlight.

"I wonder how that bastard's living now," Ethan said as rubbed on Lovely's nose.

"I don't know, but I just want to know what he looks like now," I said softly.

"Yeah, like that will ever happen," Ethan said as he walked away from me. I didn't say anything to him as he walked out the fence.

I just watched the spitting image of my father walked up the hill towards the house. I feel his pain. He barely touches that subject anymore. It's always short, brief conversions now. I see the hate in his eye and hear the distaste in his voice when we talk about Father. I know he misses him as much as I do, but he just covers it with hate and hurt now. I sighed and went to brush Lovely. "One day, we complete our family. One day."
