Breaking Safety Glass
Do you ever get the urge to scream?
To cry, to shout, to break something?
Do you ever get the inexplicable need
To do something you'll later regret?
Do you ever wonder how many bricks
Thrown at a safety glass wall
It would actually take to make
Those broken unbreakable pieces fall?
Do you ever study a piece of your art
With scissors in your hands
And in silent fascination
Watch the stamp-sized pieces land?
Do you ever want to cover your ears
And scream at the top of your voice
To loudly give in to all your fears?
Have you ever considered that choice?
Do you ever stand at the edge of a cliff
And wonder if you can fly?
Do you ever consider jumping
Without even knowing why?
Do you ever lay in bed at night
As tears run down your face?
And do you want to see how far
You can run from this empty place?
Do you ever get the urge to scream?
To cry, to shout, to break something?
Do you ever get the inexplicable need
To do something you'll later regret?
If you can say "I do" to this
If you can find that you agree
I don't know what else to tell you
But welcome to the world of me
