A/N: I don't own 'The Incredibles'. This story just randomly popped up somewhere. 'Motorcycle' actually came about cause I was watching the X-Games. Man, Pastrana was awesome with his double backflip! Anyways, enjoy and reviews are lovely.
"You invited me over to watch a horror flick?" she asked in a deadpanned tone.
"Well…yeah," he replied, loading the DVD into the DVD player. "It was either that or me hearing you complain that your mum was going to pick you up late at school and that you were bored out of your mind."
"I would have preferred to stay at school," she muttered under her breath as she settled herself onto his couch. Speaking a bit louder, she asked, "When are your parents coming home?"
He shrugged as he stood up from his hunched position on the floor and stretched. "Not sure. My dad said he'd be home late, and my mum usually gets home late anyways. Sides, they won't mind if you're here. They like you for some reason," he said, smirking at the last part.
She sent a half-hearted glare in his direction as the main screen flashed on the television. Flashing a grin back to her, he grabbed the remote and made his way to the couch, plopping down next to her. She shifted a bit as the movie began to start, uneasiness coursing through her veins. A scary scene occurred, making her emit a small squeak. Another scene, and she began to tremble in fear. Another and her eyes widened, a whisper of tears in the corners of her eyes. She mentally berated herself for acting stupid. Zane seemed okay watching the movie, and she was already flipping out in the first five minutes. She inhaled deeply, calming herself for a moment, and then returned her attention back to the television screen. Her control slipped when something (it could have been a someone earlier in the movie…) popped up during the movie. She whimpered and grabbed the nearest object (a bad habit of hers when something frightening occurred), which happened to be Zane's arm. She regained her control and blushed when he looked at her questioningly.
"You scared?" he asked in a somewhat scathing tone.
"Of course not," she replied, releasing her death grip hold on his arm. Her resolve broke when yet another scene transpired. This time, she shrieked and covered her face with her hands. He took pity on her and wrapped a comforting arm around her shoulders.
"If you get scared again, just bury your head in my shoulder," he said quietly to her, his eyes intent on the movie. She thought that she saw him blushing, but it was probably just the glow of the blood coming from the movie. A smile began to makes its way on her face, but it was quickly replaced with fear. She quickly buried her head in his shoulder, effectively covering her eyes and making her forget about the movie. She missed the small smile creeping on his face when she used him as a shield. After a few more minutes of this, he came up with a suggestion.
"How about a different movie?"
She quickly agreed with him and watched as he stood up and began to load a new DVD into the player. And, she was content to watch 'The Incredibles' with him until her mum picked her up.
