Nightmare

Peaceful slumber, twisted into fear,

Images of trust and love, convoluted by terror's touch.
Peacefulness of the night, changed to horror-bound shadow,

Mind of sanity, twisted to madness.

Sleep ends, but the nightmare awaits,

As darkness overcomes the daylight,

My own inner fears come out,

To stalk my dreams.

Peaceful slumber, twisted into fear,

Images of trust and love, convoluted by terror's touch.
Peacefulness of the night, changed to horror-bound shadow,

Mind of sanity, twisted to madness.

But at the end of every nightmare,

Is the light of day,

And in the daylight, terror has no place.

Dark dreams, flooded with light,

As the nightmare ends, and slumber becomes peaceful once more.
