I crawled out from the corner of my bed to see him packing, I tried to move but my hangover weighed my head down. I couldn't remember anything and I could barely see. But even in my stupor I could see what he was doing, there was an empty suitcase and he was busy packing his things into it. I lifted the covers, but I realised how heavy they were. I managed to find a hole between the bed and the duvet and gently spoke.

"What are you doing?" My voice was hoarse from the whiskey I had no doubt consumed.

"I'm leaving." There was no emotion in the way he said that, he didn't even look at me. His face was unmoving and totally graven. I tried again to climb up, pushing the covers away I gently sat up. I noticed that I was naked and he was blocking the wardrobe.

"Can you pass me a shirt please?" Without even paying attention he stuck his hand in the closet and threw a plain white shirt to me. Still he didn't look at me and I didn't know why.

"Why are you leaving? We're happy." For the first time he turned to look me in the eye. His eyes were stained with tears but he looked angry, like he was barely keeping control of himself.

"Happy? You don't remember last night at all do you? What you said, what you did!"

He stopped, held himself back and went to close the case.

"Maps please," as soon as I said that he lost it.

"Never call me that again! You don't have the right to call me that.

"Well please tell me, what did I do?" I was beginning to cry, washing into my day old mascara. Fresh tears began to form in his eyes as well.

"I can't, it's too painful. All I see is you and…." He paused suddenly and picked up his case. "And I've found someone else, someone who wouldn't do, what you did."

It was too much, I felt like death and he was leaving, I finally burst into tears.

"They don't love you like I love you!" He ignored me and made his way down the stairs. I was totally frantic and lost.

"Maps wait, they don't love you like I love you. Please wait! Wait!"

"They don't love you like I love you!" But it was too late, he was gone and I was left standing by the door, half naked and clueless. Just whispering to the air over and over.
