Ok so this was what I used for my A leve English writing thing. It didn't get a very good mark. 'Did not cover enough of the marks' or some crap. But then again if you're going to e-mail someone with changes that need to be made to a e-mail address (the one the college gave me) they don't use it might be an idea to TELL them. Stupid teachers.
Anyways, thought someone might like to read this. It's only the first charpter and I'm not sure if I'm going to carry it on but I might write extra bits every now and again.
But enjoy.
The Fairy Tales
She hit the floor with so much force both heels of her shoes snapped under her weight. She looked down at them for a second then carried on running. But the broken heels were slowing her pace.
Ducking into a dark alleyway she waited and prayed they did not find her. Her breath hitched in her throat as the sound of metal chipping at the sideway came closer. Along with the chipping sound came a sweeping noise. Panic rose in her heart, she would do anything not to be found by those two.
Praying quietly to herself that they would not find her she never heard the sound of footsteps behind her. Two heeled feet smashed into her back sending her flying. She landed just behind the first two. They looked down at her then at each other and turned to face her.
From the alley two more appeared, these two were twins without a doubt. They smiled at the others as they held hands.
"Found her."
One of the other two women, long blonde hair sweeping the ground as she walked, looked at the fallen girl and smiled.
"I can see that. Hello Goldilocks. Mother is very disappointed with you."
"And in the latest News, another police link to underground crime was found dead this morning."
Her codename was Snow White and she lived up to it with white skin, red lip and silky black hair. She waved a newspaper above her head as she walked into the penthouse's living room. A woman in a red cloak took this chance to duck out of the room while the others' attentions were on her.
"Does is say anything about us?" asked the Twins as they staked over to Snow white to look at the paper.
"Sorry Hansel n' Grethel. Only Cinder's," she looked over at the window where the demented girl sat. "And Rapunzel."
Rapunzel looked up from her seat. A sign for Snow White to carry on reading.
"Last night the notorious cat burglar Goldilocks was found dead….blab blab blab…..it seems she was strangled," Rapunzel stroked her long blonde hair while Snow White read. "And then…" Snow White went paler. "A sharp metal object was then…Ohhhhh I can believe you let her do that, right through her skull."
At this point Cinderella threw her head back and started laughing. She stroked the long metal heels of her shoes as the others looked on.
"OK, next time you try to stop Miss Crazy from stamping on people's heads."
Hansel and Grethel find this display of madness very amusing; they happily encouraged Cinderella on about her latest game.
Ring covered fists slammed down on the dark oak desk. The woman behind it was trying to hide her rage as best she could.
"This can not be happening. I told her not to play with the body. She's no use to me if she will not follow orders."
The woman in the red cloak stood in front of the desk looked out from under her cloak. The cloak was unusual as it did not move right; it did not flow down as it should have. It looked stiff.
"It is true that Cinderella is getting harder to control, but putting her down is not a good idea. Physically she is a danger to all of us and even if dead her madness would still be here. In the walls."
The older woman sat back behind her desk and played with her pen for a while.
"I believe you are right, as always Red. Oh, just do not let her go out until she is better behaved. Take one of the others to make up your numbers."
Leaning against the doors of the office Red sighed. Looking up at the ceiling she only just acknowledged the pretends of another.
"Red? What did she say?" The other asked coming closer to Red.
Although the speaker was female anyone could be forgiven for thinking her a man. She was tall with a mass of messy black hair hanging around her face. Her name was wolf.
"Mother Said Cinderella has to stay behind for a while and I have to take someone else."
"Who you going to take then?"
"Prince."
"Prince? But you hate her!"
"Yes and I do not trust her around Cinderella. Just think of all the things Prince could talk her into doing. I will not allow that to happen to Cinders."
Wolf leaned back against the wall opposite Red. She watched her for a few minutes. The 'thing' between Red and Prince was something no one other than them understood. It had begun long before their 'family' had formed. They had never liked each other and let it be known. Snow White had once joked it was fitting since the story of 'Little Red Riding Hood' from which Red took her codename, never had the character saved by a Prince.
"Trust is a big thing for you, isn't it Red?" Wolf asked after a few minutes of silence.
"I once had my trust destroyed by someone like Prince, I'll be damned if I let it happen to anyone here too. Prince is far to dangerous to be let out of this group but also too dangerous to be kept in."
Said 'Prince' sat at the top of the stairs leading to the penthouse. A smiled slipped across her face as the sound of footsteps echoed in the hallway, the figure was only half way up the stair when Prince spoke out,
"Good morning Briar-Rose." She purred, causing the red haired girl to drop the bag she was carrying. "I hope everything went to plan?"
The young girl nodded and picked up her bag.
"Of course it did."
Prince moved from her place on the stairs toward Briar-Rose. She lifted her face up to meet her own.
"That's a very good thing. Your face is far to pretty to be slapped for failing."
Briar-Rose stepped back out of Prince's hold and pushed pass her up to the staircase.
"You have no right to do anything to me. I work under Red now Prince."
Prince boiled with rage as Briar-Rose disappeared inside. She's only punished her a few times. Why had mother seen it fit to take her away? Rose was Prince's pet, she had found her. Prince quickly calmed herself down and followed Briar-Rose back inside. She would just have to find another way to amuse herself since her 'pet' was no longer her.
Mother sat in her office thinking. She stared into the fire as she thought about Goldilocks. Just how much had that pest told the police? Would she have to dump her plans? Would they be watching the 'others' more closely? Thing had been going down hill 'business' wise for Mother in the last couple of mouths, and now this. It had not left her in a good mood. Maybe she was getting too old for this line of work.
"This is the reason I do not allow lovers to join…" she muttered turning to watch Cinderella sleep on her desk. "I should just blame Prince. I told her bringing that girl into this would be bad. She was too taken in by her. Of course that pest's skill of breaking into places would have made her a good ally. If only she had not gone to the police….oh well." She thought to herself bitterly just as the phone started to ring.
Although the caller ID gave a number she did not know, Mother picked it up anyway. It could not be any worst news. Not unless she was told another informant was in her group.
"Hiya Mama." A voice called down the phone.
"Puss? I thought you left us. In fact I'm sure you did."
"Yeah, I did Mama, but what sort of daughter would I be if I didn't pass on info?"
"What information? I told you to be good and happy with your husband, do not get messed up with us again"
"And normally I would listen to ya, but this is tooooo good! He's got it!"
"Got what, Puss?"
"The Eye of the Sun God!"
Mother almost dropped the phone at this point. The Eye of the Sun God had been the last jewel her husband had given her before the shooting. She thought it had been stolen or taken by the police. Never did she think it would reappear in her lifetime.
"Mama?"
"Who has it?"
"Some guy my husband works up. Well his wife…or mistress…I forget which one she is, but she has it now. The nasty girl was boasting about it all night…"
"Get me his name and address. I want my jewel back."
"Of course Mama. You can always count on Puss in Boots."
The phone clicked off.
"It seems things are being to pick up." Mother smiled as she threw another log onto the fire.
Hansel and Grethel sat in the hot tub together with the finest of food and drink around them.
"And people ask why we do what we do!" Hansel laughed as she brought her drink to her lips.
"They wouldn't judge if they knew what we have now!" Giggled Grethel as the bubbles of drink began to get to her head.
"Only the finest of things for you, ladies."
"And none more finer than you Prince." Both girls giggled.
"What are you doing here anyways? You ever come to see us." Hansel asked, know never to beat around the bush with Prince or else you risked never getting a straight answer.
"Yes you only talk to us when you're interested in finding out something." Grethel agreed as she moved over closer to Prince.
"Ok so I'm after the latest new. Whatcha got for me?" Prince asked, herself sitting on the edge of the tub.
"Mother's mad at Cinderella," squealed Grethel, excited to please Prince with news and gossip about the others, even though her sister was glaring at her to keep quiet. "She told Red not to take her out until she's better behaved. You just know than going to upset Cinderella, she's been enjoying her games."
"That is interesting. Thank you my ladies."
The Twins watched as Prince turned and walked out. Hansel glared at her sister.
"You shouldn't have told her that."
"Why not? She might do something nice for us now."
Mother looked out the window of her office, looking out over the city she ruled. She remembered the night she had lost her most prized jewel and her husband, as well as her power.
It had been a normal night for them until that little punk came after them. Wanting to rule the gang that her husband ruled. Both of them had been shot a number of times before being left for dead and it would be almost five years before she found out what had happened to them.
After waking from a five year coma after the shooting, and finding herself deaf and blind on her right side, she realised she had lost everything. Those once loyal to her husband would not follow her and enemies of her 'family' set about getting rid of her. She would have given up on life years ago if not for the meeting of a murderess and a swordswoman with underground links.
Red Riding Hood and Prince Charming. They were the beginning of her new 'family' and with them she reclaimed the power she had once lost. But she also feared that they would be the ones to destroy her. The hatred between the two having grown and begun to affect the others on the family.
"I fear…that by getting this jewel back I will end up losing many of my daughters…"
"Regretting sending us after Goldilocks?" Rapunzel asked from where he was drapted over Mother's sofa.
"A little yes. Her skills would have been useful, oh well. We will have to try something else…"
"Car jacking?"
"A little common place I think Rapunzel."
"And what better? The police will blame the first group of teenagers with guns. They would never think it had anything to do with us."
Mother looked at Rapunzel and thought about this idea.
"It sounds interesting…but how would we be sure they have it with them?"
"Easy. Get Puss to help us out. She sends up a meeting and we strike. If all else fails we rob their house."
"Admit it. You're not trying here are you?"
Rapunzel smiled lazily and stretched out her back. She pulled a little at the collar around her neck.
"What can I say? It's late, I'm tired and thinking up new crime plans isn't interesting me right now. My mind's on something else."
"I bet." Mother smiled over to her.
Computer around the business world flashed up warning and shut down to protect themselves against the hacker that had just signed in. The hacker username had not been seen in years and now it was back. Breaking into all and any files. That username was PuSsInbOotS.
A famours cyber robbery done under this name had long ago been passed of as nothing more than a computer programme gone wrong, for that name had not been seen in years.
But in the suburbs of the city, in a pretty little family house a woman sat back and watched the data roll by. Long ago she had hung up the hacking codes to marry but now she was needed once more. She tapped a pen against the top of the computer desk and sighed.
"Mama's computer was so much faster than this…ahh here we go, now, let's find out just how this man got a old of Mama's jewel…oh my god…" she eyes went wide as she say the report. "Mama's not going to like this."
I just reliesed I never really checked this copy through....I did all the final drafts and stuff at college....Oh well.
